Joint officers recorded violators in an operation to crack down on littering on Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Friday (23/10/2026) evening to Saturday (24/10/2026) morning

JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – As many as 25 people were given administrative fines after being caught throwing rubbish carelessly at two points on Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati Village, East Jakarta. The total fines collected reached IDR 1.4 million and were deposited into the regional treasury.

This violation was discovered in a sting operation which took place from Friday (23/10/2026) evening to Saturday (24/10/2026) morning. Apart from being fined, violators are asked to make a statement.

Deputy Head of Kramat Jati Subdistrict, Zaini Miftah, said the operation was carried out after there was an increase in rubbish dumping along Jalan Raya Bogor. Surveillance is focused in front of Lippo Plaza Kramat Jati and under the Kramat Jati Market pedestrian bridge (JPO).

"We carried out OTT in these two locations throughout the night until early this morning. As a result, we managed to arrest 25 people when they were caught throwing rubbish carelessly in these two locations," said Zaini, Saturday (24/10/2026), as quoted from the Jakarta Provincial Government's statement.

The operation involved around 50 joint personnel from sub-district, sub-district, TNI, police, Satpol PP, Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers, as well as community elements.

Action is accompanied by education

According to Zaini, officers also provide education to violators to throw rubbish in designated places. Thus, supervision is accompanied by efforts to change the habit of throwing rubbish in public spaces.

Head of the Economy and Development Section of Kramat Jati District, Daily Juniarti, said the violators came from various occupations. Based on officers' data collection, most of them are street vendors selling in the area.
