RDF Indah Kiat Serang Claimed to be Largest in Southeast Asia, Capacity 8,100 Tons per Day
ATTACK, GARISBUMI.com – The facility for processing waste into alternative fuel or Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) owned by PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper (IKPP) Serang is claimed to have the largest capacity in Southeast Asia.
This facility has an RDF production capacity of up to 8,100 tons per day. To meet this capacity, a raw material supply of around 16,000 tons of waste is needed per day.
This large capacity is considered to open up opportunities for the Serang City Government and Serang Regency Government to work together in overcoming waste problems in their respective regions.
Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Hanif Faisol Nurofiq conveyed this when inspecting the RDF Indah Kiat facility in Serang Regency, Wednesday, September 2 2026.
According to Hanif, processing waste into an energy source is an important step to reduce waste accumulation while reducing the use of fossil fuels in the industrial sector.
“This number is very large. "Because of that, we appreciate PT Indah Kiat's compliance with the central government's directives to resolve the waste problem in industrial areas," he said. Hanif said.
