Clungup Beach, Malang Coastal Tourism with Strict Rules Regarding Waste
MALANG, GARISBUMI.com – Visitors to Clungup Beach in Tambakrejo Village, Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency, East Java, don't just come to enjoy the beach. They must also follow conservation rules, including checking luggage that has the potential to become plastic waste.
Clungup Beach is part of the Clungup Mangrove Conservation or CMC area on the south coast of Malang Regency. This area combines beach tourism, mangroves, environmental education and conservation activities.
One of the rules implemented by the manager is recording visitors' luggage at the entrance. Items that have the potential to become plastic waste are inventoried so they are not left in tourist areas.
Tourists who break the rules or leave rubbish can be fined.
This method is part of efforts to protect the area when the increasing number of tourists has the potential to increase pressure on the cleanliness of beaches and coastal ecosystems.
Clungup is also surrounded by mangrove vegetation. Visitors can go trekking in the area and, in certain activities, participate in planting mangrove seedlings.
The location is close to Gatra Beach and Tiga Warna Beach so this area is also a coastal trekking route.
