Bappenas: Green Transformation Must Become Real Action, 5.3 Million Workers Needed by 2029
Young Generation Involved
Carrying the theme "From Commitment to Creation", IGJC 2026 is a forum to bring together policies, collaboration and implementation of green job development.
The forum encourages the formation of strategic partnerships, development of solutions to workforce skills needs, as well as increased investment and innovation to accelerate the creation of green jobs in various sectors.
The younger generation is also involved through the Call for Papers and Call for Innovation programs. Students, young researchers and communities have space to offer ideas and solutions in the fields of renewable energy, circular economy and sustainable agriculture.
IGJC 2026 also presents innovation exhibitions, sustainability initiatives and green skills development activities as a means of learning and exchanging experiences.
Through strengthening skills, cross-sector partnerships, investment and innovation, the government hopes that Indonesia can build a quality, inclusive and sustainable green jobs ecosystem.
This step is also needed to ensure that the Indonesian workforce is ready to play a role in economic transformation and is not left behind when industrial needs move towards an increasingly low-carbon system. (ed)
