Menteri PPN/Kepala Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy menyampaikan arah transformasi pekerjaan hijau dalam Indonesiaโ€™s Green Jobs Conference 2026 di Jakarta, Rabu, 2 September 2026.

JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com โ€“ Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy emphasized that the transformation towards a green economy must not stop at commitment and creating ideas. This transformation must be realized through real action, including preparing millions of workers with green skills.

Based on the Indonesian Green Workforce Development Roadmap launched by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the need for green workers in Indonesia is projected to exceed 5.3 million jobs in 2029. In addition, more than 72 million existing jobs have the potential to be transformed to be in line with a low-carbon economy.

“We have agreed from commitment to creation, but that alone is not enough. From commitment to creation and then to action, real action. Together with the German Government, we will work even more closely,” said Rachmat at Indonesia's Green Jobs Conference (IGJC) 2026 at the Bappenas Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 2 2026.

According to Rachmat, green transformation has become part of the national development agenda. The government targets increasing the share of new and renewable energy in the primary energy mix from 20 percent in 2025 to 70 percent in 2045.

It is believed that this increase of 50 percentage points will create various new job opportunities, both to meet Indonesia's needs and support the global sustainable development agenda.

“This 50 percent difference will create new jobs which are not only for the benefit of Indonesia and our neighboring countries, but also for the benefit of the world,” said Rachmat.
