Tanjung Puting Forest and Land Fire, Government Prepares 30 Drilled Wells to Prevent Fire from Reaching Core Zone
Raja Juli said that handling fires in peat areas requires cross-party coordination and consistent operations until the fire can be controlled. He appreciated the officers and volunteers who worked in difficult field conditions.
"We will do what the government can do. Water bombing, OMC, mobilization of more massive ground troops, drilled wells. God willing, we will work even harder for the sake of the community," he said.
Handling of the Tanjung Puting forest and land fires is focused on community safety, protecting wildlife habitat, and preventing the spread of fires into the core zone of the conservation area.
