Indonesian Hotspots Reach 674 Points, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) and West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Become Focus of Forest and Forestry Control
JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – The number of Hotspots or hot spots with a high level of confidence in Indonesia reached 674 on Sunday, September 6 2026. Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) is the priority province with the highest number of Hotspots, followed by West Kalimantan (Kalbar).
Based on data from the Ministry of Forestry's Forest and Forestry Monitoring System or SiPongi, this number has increased compared to the 558 Hotspots detected on September 5 2026.
The latest monitoring data on Sunday at 21.25 WIB came from the NASA Terra/Aqua, Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership or SNPP, and NOAA-20 satellites.
The Ministry of Forestry together with a joint team continues to strengthen control of forest and land fires or forest and land fires in six priority provinces.
Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) Records 243 Hotspots
Of the six priority provinces for controlling forest and land fires, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) recorded the highest number of Hotspots with a high level of confidence, namely 243 points. West Kalimantan (Kalbar) is next with 138 points.
Meanwhile, 61 Hotspots were detected in South Sumatra (Sumsel), 26 points in Jambi, 20 points in South Kalimantan, and seven points in Riau.
