Hot Spots in Six Provinces Increase to 542, Ministry of Forestry Strengthens Handling of Forest and Land Fires
The Ministry of Forestry urges people in affected areas to follow air quality information and local government directions. When air quality worsens, residents are advised to reduce outdoor activities and use masks if they have to do activities outside.
Special attention is required for children, pregnant women, the elderly, as well as residents with respiratory problems or chronic diseases.
Handling forest and land fires also includes saving wild animals affected by fires and habitat disturbance. Residents who find animals injured, trapped or entering residential areas are asked to keep their distance and not evacuate themselves.
The location and condition of the animals can be recorded if possible, then immediately reported to the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) or the nearest forestry officer.
