Young Mountains that Never Silent
The mountain does not always show its activity openly. When covered in fog or dark at night, seismograph vibrations provide guidance. Sometimes the sound arrives first. A boom from the middle of the ocean was heard before the afterglow was visible.
In 2016, Anak Krakatau erupted again. Similar activity occurred in February 2017. Entering June 2018, his anxiety increased.
Earthquake gusts which are usually recorded about once a day jumped to 69 events on June 19 2018. Continuous tremors began to be recorded. Not long afterward, incandescent material was again ejected from the crater.
In September 2018, the peak was measured at 338 meters above sea level. Anak Krakatau is currently in the body building phase. The cones get bigger and taller.
From a distance, its shape looks solid.
However, volcanoes don't just grow from what is visible on the surface. Inside his body were pressures, cracks, piles of materials, and ever-changing slopes.
Towards the end of 2018, Anak Krakatau became increasingly active. Strombolian eruptions eject incandescent material. Lava continues to add to the body of the mountain that has been building for decades.
Not many people know that this long growth is approaching a big change.
