Subulussalam Prioritizes River Restoration and Controlling Palm Oil Expansion
Citizen input determines direction
Director of Sustainable Natural Resources Planning at KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH), Hariani Samal, called public consultation a space for the community and stakeholders to participate in determining the direction of environmental protection.
"This public consultation is a space for the community and stakeholders to provide input on the direction of environmental protection and management in Subulussalam City," said Hariani.
Regional officials, academics, business actors, communities and conservation organizations are involved in improving the technical material.
According to KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH), the RPPLH is also aligned with the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra 2026–2028. This alignment is intended so that post-disaster recovery is connected to long-term environmental protection.
The Subulussalam City Government hopes that the RPPLH will become a real reference for the policies and programs of each regional apparatus. For residents, the results that need to be realized are protected water sources, reduced risk of flooding, more equitable waste services, and maintained livelihoods.
