National hotspot Increases 89 Percent, Fire in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng)'s Peatlands Hasn't Been Completely Extinguished
GARISBUMI.com – The reduction in hot spots in the six priority provinces does not mean the threat of forest and land fires has ended. Field reports still record fire and smoke in a number of locations in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng).
The number of hot spots or Hotspots with a high level of confidence nationally increased by 89 percent to 189 spots during monitoring Monday, November 2 2026, at 21.00 WIB. At the same time, officers are still dealing with fire and smoke at a number of forest and land fire locations in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), including on peatlands.
The Ministry of Forestry's SiPongi data sourced from NASA Terra/Aqua, SNPP and NOAA-20 satellite monitoring shows an addition of 89 points compared to the previous day, when 100 Hotspots were detected.
Different developments were recorded in six priority provinces for controlling forest and land fires or forest and land fires. The number of Hotspots in the area fell from 34 to 31 points.
The difference in the direction of the two figures shows the need to read the development of forest and land fires as a whole. The reduction in priority areas occurred at the same time as the increase nationally, while blackout operations in the field have not yet been completed.
Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) Still Remains of Fire and Smoke
Of the 31 Hotspots in six priority provinces, 19 were detected in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), nine in Jambi and three in South Kalimantan. South Sumatra (Sumsel), West Kalimantan (Kalbar) and Riau recorded zero Hotspots with a high level of confidence in this monitoring.
