Melati Tangerang Waste Bank Trains Management to Use TOSS, Encourages Processing from Source
GARISBUMI.com – TANGERANG, GARISBUMI.COM | The management of the Melati Waste Bank in Kampung Sirih, Neglasari District, Tangerang City, took part in technology-based waste management training to improve their ability to process waste using Local Waste Processing Site (TOSS) machines.
The training, which was held with partners named in the Tangerang City Government's statement as Pertamina Niaga SHAFTHI, is also expected to encourage community involvement in managing waste from its source.
Neglasari Subdistrict Head Iwan Mulyawan said that this activity equipped waste bank administrators with knowledge of technology-based waste management at the community level.
"Not just training, we hope that yesterday's activity will provide valuable experience for waste bank administrators to encourage more sustainable waste management practices," said Iwan, Wednesday (28/10/2026), as quoted from a statement from the Tangerang City Government.
According to Iwan, the training was aimed at helping administrators process waste using innovative TOSS machines. He expressed support for this collaboration as part of increasing the capacity of waste bank managers.
Strengthening the capacity of administrators is one of the focuses of activities, along with the hope that residents will become more involved in waste management from the source.
However, the Tangerang City Government's statement has not detailed the types of waste that can be processed by the TOSS machine, how it works, processing capacity, or the final results. There is also no data available regarding changes in the volume of waste managed by the Melati Waste Bank after the training.
