Indigenous Palm Sugar Reaches the Market, Business Registration Still a Challenge
In Cirompang, KUPS Kaolotan develops ant sugar with production of 20–50 packages per month. Each package measures 200–250 grams and is sold for IDR 20,000 through the ordering system.
This group has five active members. According to information from the Ministry of Forestry, the business activities involve around 20-30 workers.
Chairman of KUPS Kaolotan Cirompang, Ateng, said the group had received assistance from Productive Economic Tools to support palm sugar processing. Marketing reaches local communities to the provincial level, including through the Citorek Outlet.
Business development also received support for access to funding through internal bailout funds, the Bang PeSoNa program, and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Output 2. However, product certification and PNBP administration are still in progress.
