JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – The clean energy forum which was held again after a three year hiatus discussed regulations, investment, technology and strengthening domestic industry.

The government is targeting additional new and renewable energy generation of 42.6 gigawatts by 2034. This target covers around 62 percent of the total additional generating capacity planned in the Electricity Supply Business Plan or RUPTL 2025–2034.

This target was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot when opening the IndoEBTKE Convention and Exhibition or IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 2 2026.

IndoEBTKE ConEx was held again after a three year hiatus. Entering its 12th implementation, the forum brings together the government, business actors, academics, researchers and stakeholders to discuss the development of clean energy in Indonesia.

“In RUPTL, it is around 62 percent, around 42.6 gigawatts, this is our target to increase energy supply, especially new and renewable energy,” said Yuliot.

The forum discussed various issues that still hamper the development of renewable energy, starting from regulations, technology, infrastructure, logistics, financing, to research and innovation capabilities.

The government places the development of new, renewable energy and energy conservation as part of efforts to strengthen national energy resilience and independence. This step is considered increasingly important amidst geopolitical dynamics that can disrupt supply chains and increase energy prices.
