East Metro Residents Complain About Floods and Garbage, Old Trees Are a Concern
The Metro City Government's statement has not detailed the form of assistance provided or the results of inspections of the condition of the trees. Concerns regarding the potential for fallen trees in the report came from residents' explanations.
Flood and rubbish complaints need follow-up
Apart from the tree problem, residents complained about puddles, flooding and environmental waste management. Bambang said field visits were needed so that the government could understand the community's needs directly.
"The government must not only find out about problems from reports. We must go directly, see conditions on the ground, listen to the community, so that we can understand the needs of the residents well and find solutions," he said.
According to Bambang, the problems found will be discussed with the relevant OPD so that the handling continues after the mutual cooperation activities.
However, the information published by the Metro City Government has not explained the points of inundation and flooding in detail, their causes, or the forms of waste management problems that residents have complained about. The handling schedule and distribution of responsibilities between agencies has also not been mentioned.
This information is needed to know the steps to be taken and to assess their progress. Complaints of flooding and rubbish in this activity are not enough to conclude that the two have a cause-and-effect relationship at the locations visited.
