GARISBUMI.com – EARTH LINES | Inundation, flooding and waste management were issues raised by residents during mutual cooperation activities in East Metro District, Metro City, Sunday (8/11/2026). On Jalan Pala, residents also cut down old trees with manual equipment because they were worried that the trees would fall and endanger road users.

This issue emerged during Metro Mayor Bambang Iman Santoso's visit to a number of community service work locations. Based on information from the Metro City Government, activities took place in Yosodadi Village, the Linara Forest area in Tejo Agung Village, as well as several other points in East Metro.

Residents' complaints show the need for environmental management which includes cleanliness, flooding and safety around settlements and roads. The city government stated that these findings would be used as material for evaluation and coordination with the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

Residents cut down trees with minimal equipment

On Jalan Pala, residents worked together to cut down trees that they feared had the potential to fall. Chairman of RW 06 Iringmulyo Village, Sukadi, said the age of the tree and concerns about the safety of residents were the reasons for this action.

"We, together with the residents, took the initiative to cut down this tree because it was old and we were worried that if it fell it could endanger the public and passing motorists. We did it in mutual cooperation with the available equipment," said Sukadi.

When visiting the location, Bambang coordinated with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to provide support for the residents' needs.
