Dredging of the Mampang and Krukut Rivers Still Remains 157 Thousand Cubic Meters of Sediment
Thus, most of the remaining reported dredging volume is in the Krukut River. This statement does not include a completion deadline or daily dredging capacity.
The work is directed at smoothing the flow to the West Flood Canal and reducing the potential for flooding in the Mampang Prapatan, Pasar Minggu and Pancoran areas.
According to Pramono, Mampang and its surroundings are prone to flooding due to its geographic condition in the form of a basin. He said rain of around 100 millimeters per day could trigger puddles and flooding at a number of points.
The sheet pile is maintained, the river flow is improved
Apart from dredging, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is carrying out sheet pile maintenance on the Mampang River - Jalan Poncol Jaya, which is 300 meters long and the Krukut River - Canadiyanti Complex, which is 241.7 meters long.
"The target is not just to repair one point, but to strengthen the regional flood control system. The sheet pile maintenance and dredging must be carried out continuously so that the flow from the Mampang River to the Krukut River and the West Flood Canal runs smoothly, especially during the rainy season," said Pramono.
The provincial government also stated that improvements were underway in other rivers, including Ciliwung, Cakung Lama, and Angke, as well as waterways in various areas of Jakarta.
