Untirta Plants Mangroves in Karangantu, Supports Coastal Protection and Tourist Areas

GARISBUMI.com – SERANG, GARISBUMI.COM | The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University or Untirta held mangrove planting in the Pancer Mangrove Tourism area, Karangantu, Serang City. This activity is directed at maintaining coastal ecosystems which have the function of protecting beaches, biota habitat, as well as tourism potential.

The planting location is in Banten Village, Kasemen District. Based on information from the Kasemen District Government, this activity is also aimed at encouraging the involvement of various parties in mangrove conservation and increasing public awareness about its function.

Mangroves have a role in helping protect beaches from abrasion, providing habitat for various marine biota, and maintaining the balance of coastal ecosystems. This ecological function is an important part of the sustainability of mangrove tourism areas.

Ecosystem protection in tourist areas

The Kasemen District Government said that the Pancer Mangrove Tourism area has ecological and tourism potential that needs to be maintained and developed sustainably.

Planting by LPPM Untirta is expected to provide long-term benefits for the environment and surrounding communities. The sub-district government welcomed this activity as part of the collaboration between universities, government and the community in protecting coastal areas.
