JEMBER, GARISBUMI.com – Around 77 families in Sumberjeruk Village, Kalisat District, Jember Regency, East Java, need clean water assistance due to the drought. BPBD Jember recommends sending around 5,000 liters every four days as long as residents still have difficulty getting water for their daily needs.

This need was identified through an assessment in Kidul Hamlet and Karangpring Hamlet after the village government submitted a request for assistance.

"From the results of the assessment, residents who need clean water are spread across several RTs in Kidul Hamlet and Karangpring Hamlet. The total is around 77 families," said member of the Jember BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC), Didi Teguh.

On Thursday (22/10/2026), 5,000 liters of clean water were distributed to the two hamlets. Aid is put into available reservoirs and given directly to affected residents.

In Kidul Hamlet, residents who need assistance include around 20 families in RT 1 RW 8 and 15 families in RT 1 RW 6. Meanwhile in Karangpring Hamlet, the need is recorded in around 22 families in RT 2 RW 1 and 20 families in RT 3 RW 1.

TRC BPBD accompanied the distribution together with Bakorwil Jember. Village officials, RT and RW administrators, and the community help with distribution so that aid reaches residents in need.

"TRC BPBD provides assistance at the location, starting from the distribution process to ensuring clean water assistance can be received by residents who need it," said Didi.
