Samarinda Aims for Adipura 2026, Waste in Drainage and Illegal TPS Becomes Focus for Improvement
SAMARINDA, GARISBUMI.com โ Garbage in drainage channels, piles of waste on riverbanks, and illegal temporary shelters (TPS) are of concern to the Samarinda City Government in preparation for the 2026 Adipura Assessment. Improvements also include providing trash cans and emptying them on a scheduled basis, two needs that are in direct contact with the cleanliness of the residents' environment.
This agenda was discussed at a coordination meeting at Samarinda City Hall, Friday (30/10/2026). The meeting was chaired by Samarinda City Regional Secretary Neneng Chamelia Shanti and involved regional, sub-district and sub-district officials.
According to Neneng, improving the environment requires joint work between the government and the community. Each sector that is the location of the assessment needs to be examined so that deficiencies can be identified and addressed in stages.
"The Adipura Trophy is not the main thing for us. However, at least it is a trigger for all of us to continue moving to improve the environment," said Neneng, as quoted from a statement from the Samarinda City Government.
From drainage to final processing site
In the meeting, the Samarinda City Environmental Service (DLH) explained the locations of concern in the 2026 Adipura Assessment. The coverage includes shopping areas, offices, schools, hospitals, health centers, city parks, canals and open water, as well as Final Processing Sites (TPA).
Type C bus or transportation terminals and type C ports are also included in the list presented by DLH.
