Potential of Forest Environmental Services in West Bandung and Subang Examined, Carrying Capacity Used as Reference
WEST JAVA, GARISBUMI.com โ The development of forest environmental services in West Bandung Regency and Subang Regency is entering the stage of examining field conditions. The Ministry of Forestry carries out verification to match management plans with regional conditions, including ecosystem conditions and resource potential.
This inspection is the basis for determining management that is appropriate to the characteristics and carrying capacity of the area. It is hoped that economic benefits for the community can be developed while maintaining the ecological function of the forest.
This activity is part of the implementation of the Forest Area Management Plan with Special Management (RPKHDPK) for Environmental Services. Verification was carried out by the Directorate for Developing Forest Utilization Plans, the Directorate General of Sustainable Forest Management (Ditjen PHL), together with the Ciamis Region VII Sustainable Forest Management Center (BPHL).
Match the plan to forest conditions
Director of Forest Utilization Plan Development, C. Hendro Widjanarko, said that field inspections or ground checks are needed so that management plans are prepared based on the real conditions of the area.
"We want to ensure that every potential area can be identified and managed appropriately, while still prioritizing the ecological function of the forest, certainty of governance, and sustainable benefits for the community," said Hendro, as quoted from a statement from the Ministry of Forestry.
The team examined ecosystem conditions, resource potential, area characteristics, and technical factors needed to develop the next management steps. The results will be taken into consideration in improving the planning and implementation of the RPKHDPK for Environmental Services Allocation.
