National ASGANISPH Formed, Strengthens Competency and Integrity of Forestry Technical Personnel

Laksmi also encouraged the formation of regional management, building a member database, and preparing measurable work programs. ASGANISPH is expected to be able to fight for professional recognition and welfare of technical personnel from Sumatra to Papua.

Apart from that, the association is expected to become a strategic partner for the Ministry of Forestry in formulating policies, increasing the capacity of technical personnel, implementing Forestry Multibusiness, as well as achieving Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030.

Prioritize the Code of Ethics and Member Data Collection

The elected National Chair of ASGANISPH, Didi Kuntoro, stated that his management would prioritize implementing work programs and enforcing the code of ethics resulting from the National Conference.

Another priority is to form regional management and build a member database. According to Didi, the Forest Management Technical Personnel Information System (SIGANISHUT) currently records 14,466 forest management technical personnel.

During this activity, Didi read the Palagan Declaration regarding the formation of the National ASGANISPH. The declaration emphasizes the association's goal as an official, professional, independent, accountable and sustainable forum for forest management technical personnel in Indonesia.

Director of Contributions and Forest Product Administration, Krisdianto, explained that the first national meeting did not only elect administrators. The forum also determines the rules of the National Conference, articles of association and bylaws, outlines of the work program, code of ethics, as well as criteria and procedures for selecting the chairman.

The Directorate General of PHL is committed to assisting ASGANISPH by involving the association in developing technical personnel, developing competency standards, and forest utilization policy forums.
