Badung Cleans Irrigation Channels, Encourages Waste Sorting Culture
BADUNG, GARISBUMI.com – The Badung Regency Government held an action to clean the environment and irrigation channels in the Badung Government Center (Puspem) area, Friday (9/10/2026). This activity is a momentum to strengthen the habit of maintaining cleanliness and sorting waste in office and community environments.
Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa, who led the activity, emphasized the importance of building environmental awareness through daily awareness. According to him, the habit of maintaining cleanliness needs to continue to grow without waiting for instructions.
The clean-up action was held as a series of commemorations for Tumpek Wayang as well as continuing routine community service activities every Friday.
Adi Arnawa was present with Deputy Regent of Badung Bagus Alit Subuat and Regional Secretary Ida Bagus Surya Suamba. The activity also involved the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), women's organizations, vertical agencies, students, regional government employees, as well as the TNI and Polri.
Cleanliness Needs to Become a Habit
Adi Arnawa assesses that public awareness of cleanliness is starting to grow, including in sorting waste. However, this habit needs to be strengthened so that it occurs consistently.
"The most important thing is that culture will continue to grow in our respective environments. If culture has grown, of course it will have implications for other things. Including what we do as ASN will of course continue to grow, there is no need to direct it later," he said.
He invited participants to be directly involved in cleaning the environment, including irrigation canals in the Badung Community Center area. It is hoped that this involvement will be a form of shared responsibility in caring for the spaces that are used daily.
