500 Houses in South Kembangan Sort Waste, Reduction in Shipments to Bantargebang Has Not Been Measurable
JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – A total of 500 houses in nine RWs of Kembangan Selatan Subdistrict, Kembangan District, West Jakarta, have received "Sorting House" stickers after going through waste sorting verification. This program is aimed at reducing waste sent to the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST), although the amount of the reduction has not been stated.
The stickers are a marker for households that actively separate organic and inorganic waste. The sub-district government plans regular evaluations, including the possibility of removing stickers if residents no longer carry out sorting.
South Kembangan Village Head, Junaidi, said the program aims to build the habit of managing waste from home.
"This is our effort to encourage people to get used to sorting waste from households and increase awareness of environmental cleanliness," said Junaidi, Wednesday (28/10/2026), as quoted from a statement from the West Jakarta City Government.
Verification is carried out from house to house
Installing the stickers involves the Environmental Implementation Unit, RT/RW administrators, Dasawisma cadres, and Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers.
They registered participants' homes, checked trash cans, and provided direct sorting education. According to Junaidi, the stickers were installed after the house was declared to meet the criteria.
