25 Hour Eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau Ends, Status Remains Alert Level III
Monitored from Banten and Lampung
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation continues to monitor the development of Mount Anak Krakatau through two observation posts.
Monitoring was carried out from the Pasauran Observation Post in Cinangka District, Serang Regency, Banten, and the Kalianda Observation Post in Hargo Pancuran Village, Rajabasa District, South Lampung Regency.
Data from these two posts is the basis for the Geological Agency in evaluating the development of volcanic activity and updating safety recommendations to the public.
As long as Mount Anak Krakatau is still at Level III or Alert status, the public, tourists, fishermen and climbers must comply with the prohibition on activities within a three kilometer radius of the active crater.
Communities on the coasts of Banten and Lampung are also asked to follow official information from the Geological Agency, PVMBG, BPBD and local governments. (ed)
