SERANG, GARISBUMI.com – The Serang Regency Government has formed a Mining Task Force (Satgas) to monitor mining activities, including those suspected of operating without permits or having permits that have expired.

A number of areas were targeted for surveillance, including Pabuaran, Jawilan, Bojonegara, Pulo Ampel and Mancak. Teams will be divided by region so that data collection can take place simultaneously.

Serang Regency Regional Secretary Zaldi Dhuhana said that the formation of the task force was the direction of Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah. The Regent asked for immediate supervision, especially of mines that were suspected of being illegal.

"This is all under the direction of the Regent of Serang (Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah) regarding the supervision of mines, especially illegal mines. The Regent hopes that we will form a Task Force and can take action quickly," said Zaldi, Friday (2/10/2026).

According to Zaldi, the task force will record mining activities and check the status of permits. Supervision also covers licensed mines, including to find out whether the permits are still valid.

He mentioned mining activities in Pabuaran, Ciomas and Mancak as a number of locations that have recently become a concern.

"But in essence, we only monitor mines that are especially illegal, or mines whose permits have expired," he said.
