RW 005 Sunter Jaya Waste Bank Inaugurated, Encouraging Household Waste with Economic Value
JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – Residents of RW 005 Sunter Jaya Village now have a waste bank unit to manage household waste independently. It is hoped that its presence will encourage residents to sort waste from home, reducing the waste that goes to the final processing site (TPA), as well as unlocking economic benefits.
Monday (12/10/2026), Sunter Jaya Subdistrict Secretary, Nurul Hilal, attended the inauguration and appreciated the residents' initiative in establishing waste management in their environment.
In his speech, Nurul said that the waste bank was a form of community concern for environmental cleanliness as well as an effort to empower the residents' economy.
Through organized sorting, it is hoped that household waste can be managed more productively. This step is also expected to reduce the volume of waste that must be disposed of in landfills.
The presence of a waste bank is a means of raising collective awareness about the importance of sorting waste from the source. Citizen involvement is needed so that these habits become part of daily activities.
The sub-district party hopes that the operations of the RW 005 Waste Bank will run consistently with the support of environmental administrators and the community. It is hoped that sustainable management can be an example for other RWs in Sunter Jaya Village.
The inauguration was greeted enthusiastically by RW administrators and local residents who expressed their commitment to support waste bank activities.
