PSEL Lampung Raya Needs Thousands of Cubics of Water per Day, Flood Mitigation is Examined
LAMPUNG, GARISBUMI.com – The plan for the Greater Lampung Waste to Electrical Energy (PSEL) Processing project in the Kota Baru area, Jati Agung District, requires an operational water supply of around 2,658 cubic meters per day. The Lampung Provincial Government is still assessing water availability as well as preparing flood mitigation and project land development.
This need was one of the discussions in the follow-up coordination meeting at Bandar Negara Husada Hospital and field inspection, Tuesday (20/10/2026). The activity was led by the Head of the Lampung Province Environmental Service (DLH), Riski Sofian, together with his staff and technical team.
Based on information from the Lampung Diskominfotik, the cross-agency coordination discussed the technical readiness of the project, starting from site security against flooding, land financing, to access roads.
Water Needs and Flood Mitigation
PSEL's projected operational water needs are recorded at 2,658 cubic meters per day, with an estimated figure of around 3,000 cubic meters per day. The availability of supply will be assessed through water balance calculations.
The Water Resources Management Service (PSDA) also inventoried the potential supply from PDAMs in the Soekarno-Hatta corridor of 8.68 liters per second. This potential is still part of the study of meeting the project's operational water needs.
Apart from water supply, preparedness for flooding is a concern. The survey results show that the existing road level is around 80 centimeters above the estimated flood water level.
PT Sucofindo and PT Arkonin are targeted to complete a technical study on flood mitigation with a 50 year projection on October 26 2026. This study is part of the technical preparations for the development of the Greater Lampung PSEL location.
