Jakarta Solid Waste Works Prepares 264 Workers, from Sorting to Alternative Fuels
JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – Sorting, composting and processing waste into alternative fuel is part of the work for 264 participants in the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service (DLH) labor-intensive program in November–December 2026.
This program connects the need for waste management with opportunities to earn income for residents. Registration will take place on 23–25 October 2026, while the calling and verification of potential participants is scheduled for 26–27 October 2026.
Head of DLH DKI Jakarta, Dudi Gardesi, said that citizen involvement is expected to strengthen waste management from collection to processing.
"The labor-intensive program also encourages citizen involvement in waste management. We hope that this program will provide economic benefits while strengthening waste management efforts in Jakarta," he said, Monday (26/10/2026).
The 264 positions consist of 139 organic and inorganic waste sorting officers, 25 Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) facility support staff, and 100 waste lifting officers. This amount is specifically for DLH's needs at that stage.
From Compost to Waste Fuel
Organic waste sorting and processing officers will help collect waste to temporary shelters (TPS), prepare material for pulverizing machines, make biopore holes, and assist with composting.
Meanwhile, RDF facility support staff helps process waste into alternative fuel. The waste lifter is tasked with loading the waste into the collection vehicle and ensuring that no waste is scattered during transportation.
