Encouraging Industrial Decarbonization, PPSDM KEBTKE Trains 30 Energy Management Participants
JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – Measurable energy management is one step to increase efficiency while supporting industrial decarbonization. To strengthen this capability, PPSDM KEBTKE together with the Indonesia-Denmark Energy Partnership Program (INDODEPP) held ISO 50001-based energy management training for 30 participants in Jakarta, 22–24 September 2026.
Participants came from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ministry of Industry, PPSDM KEBTKE, BPSDM ESDM, National Energy Council, as well as provincial government institutions.
For three days, participants learned the basic principles of energy management, the application of ISO 50001, as well as energy efficiency and industrial decarbonization strategies. The training also introduces the basics of energy audits as a tool for understanding energy use and identifying improvement opportunities.
This activity is an initial stage of capacity strengthening, not a professional energy auditor certification program.
Managing Energy in a Measurable manner
Energy efficiency is not only related to reducing electricity or fuel consumption. Organizations also need to measure energy performance, identify sources of waste, and implement continuous improvements.
In this training, ISO 50001 was introduced as an approach to building a more structured energy management system. Through systematic management, organizations are expected to be able to identify opportunities to increase efficiency while supporting efforts towards a low-carbon energy system.
In his opening remarks, PPSDM KEBTKE emphasized that energy efficiency and decarbonization require technological support, investment and competent human resources. The ability to translate policies into concrete steps is an important part of the process.
