TANGGAMUS, GARISBUMI.com – The Tanggamus Regency Environmental Service (DLH) together with PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang PLTP Ulubelu planted banyan and ketapang golden trees in the Sumber Agung Springs area, Pekon Margoyoso, Sumberejo District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, Thursday (8/10/2026). This planting is the first step in conservation cooperation to protect water sources and the surrounding ecosystem.

DLH Secretary Tanggamus Abdul Rahman emphasized the importance of care after planting. Trees need to be ensured to grow so they can provide long-term benefits.

"Planting is the beginning, but caring for and ensuring the trees grow is a real form of our commitment," said Abdul Rahman in his speech.

According to him, the sustainability of Sumber Agung Springs is influenced by environmental conditions and the surrounding vegetation cover. Tree planting is directed at maintaining water management functions, preventing environmental degradation, and supporting habitat for biodiversity.

The spring area has an area of around five hectares. Apart from having an environmental function, this area is also used by the community as a tourist attraction.

Secretary Pekon Margoyoso explained that the Sumber Agung Spring tourism is managed by Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) together with the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). This use adds to the importance of preserving the area so that the benefits can continue to be felt by the community.

The planting activity was attended by the Head of Sumberejo Senen Subdistrict, pekon officials, representatives of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang PLTP Ulubelu Ahmad Muslih, and the NGO Trace Earth.

Abdul Rahman appreciated the collaboration between PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang PLTP Ulubelu in supporting environmental conservation in Tanggamus Regency. He hopes that cooperation will continue through other ecosystem and biodiversity protection programs.

He also invited the Pekon government, community and parties involved to protect and care for the Sumber Agung Springs area. Joint involvement is needed so that conservation efforts continue after planting activities are completed.
