BULELENG, GARISBUMI.com – Bengkel Village in Busungbiu District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, is preparing to develop a tourist village that combines rice terraces, waterfalls and prehistoric relics. The village government targets the readiness of governance and supporting facilities to be completed by 2027.

Preparations that have been underway since 2024 include arranging tourist attractions, compiling a village history book, as well as increasing the capacity of human resources, including local tour guides.

The Head of Bengkel Village, Putu Artana, said that his party involved academics so that the historical information conveyed to tourists had a research basis.

"We have been preparing since 2024, now we are still finalizing it, the target is to launch it in 2027. We also involve academics so that the preparation of this history is objective and research-based, so that this village history book can later become a guide for local tourist guides," said Putu when confirmed, Saturday (10/10/2026).

Rice Terraces to Spiritual Tourism

Bengkel Village has a number of natural tourism potentials, ranging from rice terraces equipped with trekking paths to hilly areas. Santhi Phala Waterfall is also prepared as a spiritual tourism location for melukat activities.

This attraction will be combined with the history of the village. Bengkel Village has traces of prehistoric remains in the form of sarcophagi which are one of the materials for compiling tourist narratives.

To support its development, the village government collaborates with academics and related agencies, including the tourism and culture department. The research results and village history book will be finalized as an official guide for local guides.
