Kendari City Government ASN took part in the joint roll call, Monday (5/10/2026). In this activity, officials were reminded to consistently collect two kilograms of inorganic waste every month to build environmental care habits

KENDARI, GARISBUMI.com – The Kendari City Government requires every state civil servant (ASN) to collect two kilograms of inorganic waste every month. This policy is directed at reducing waste that has the potential to pollute the environment as well as building habits of caring for cleanliness among officials.

Assistant III for General Administration of the Kendari City Regional Secretariat La Ode Abdul Manas Salihin reminded this obligation at the ASN Joint Call for the Kendari City Government, Monday (5/10/2026).

In this activity, the Kendari City Social Service received an award as the regional government organization (OPD) with the most inorganic waste deposits during September 2026.

"Congratulations to the Kendari City Social Service for becoming the OPD with the most inorganic waste deposits for the September period. This is an example and motivation for other OPDs to continue participating," said La Ode Abdul Manas.

The award was handed over symbolically to the Head of the Kendari City Social Service. La Ode Abdul Manas was accompanied by the Head of the Kendari City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM).

Encourage Environmental Care Habits

La Ode Abdul Manas explained that the obligation to collect inorganic waste is a leadership instruction that needs to be carried out consistently by all ASN.

According to him, waste collection is a form of apparatus involvement in maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of the Kendari City environment. The program is also expected to raise awareness that waste management is a shared responsibility.

"This program is our shared responsibility. Therefore, I hope that all ASN can implement it consistently," he said.

He emphasized that the success of the program is not only measured by the amount of waste collected, but also by the growth of discipline and concern for the environment in everyday life.

It is hoped that the award to the Social Service will encourage other OPDs to increase their participation in inorganic waste collection.

Work Discipline is Also Emphasized

In the rally which was attended by the heads of OPD and ASN, La Ode Abdul Manas also reminded officials to comply with working hours and follow official agendas, including morning roll call and ceremonies.

He asked ASN to wear official clothing neatly according to regulations, including Korpri batik uniforms every 17th.

"Discipline must be our collective concern. Punctuality in entering and leaving the office and attendance at every official activity is part of our responsibility as ASN," he said.
