JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – Around three tons of illegal waste was transported from Jalan Marunda Makmur RT 07 RW 01, Marunda Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, Tuesday (29/9/2026). After cleaning, the sub-district government asked residents to protect the location so that it does not become a rubbish dump again.

The transportation involved 12 Marunda Village Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers as well as four Environmental Other Individual Service Provider (PJLP) officers. They clean, collect and transport piles of rubbish whose volume is estimated to reach 10 cubic meters.

Three vehicles were deployed to support transportation, namely one waste transport vehicle, one Hilux car and one pickup. Officers work together until the location is cleaner and more orderly.

Marunda Subdistrict Secretary Dwi Djunarso said that handling illegal waste requires the involvement of the government and the community. Cleaning needs to be followed by the habit of throwing rubbish in designated places.

"We continue to make efforts to deal with illegal waste accumulation points. However, after the location has been cleaned, what is no less important is ensuring that the location does not become a waste dump again," he said.

Prevent Waste Piles from Reappearing

The cleanup involved the Cilincing District Environmental Implementation Unit, Marunda Village PPSU, and Environmental PJLP. Dwi together with the Head of the Economic and Development Section of Marunda Village, Menah Suprianah, were also present at the activity.

Transporting waste is carried out to reduce the potential for health problems and environmental pollution due to landfills. The sub-district government is also trying to prevent locations that have been cleaned from becoming illegal dumping points again.

Residents are invited to help maintain the cleanliness of Jalan Marunda Makmur by not throwing rubbish carelessly and using designated disposal areas.
