Central Jakarta Administrative Mayor Arifin (center) provides direction in evaluating waste sorting and processing at the Central Jakarta Mayor's Office, Wednesday (7/10/2026). He asked for waste management reports according to field conditions and for village heads to actively monitor waste bank activities in their areas

"I hope that the village heads will have various strategies to be able to collaborate in handling waste, both organic and non-organic," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Central Jakarta LH Sub-Department, Slamet Riyadi, said that data from Bantargebang shows a decrease in the average waste disposed of from Central Jakarta from January to September 2026.

From the figures he presented, namely 886 tons to 670 tons per day, the decrease reached 216 tons per day, or around 24.4 percent compared to January.

Slamet appreciated the involvement of sub-district heads, village heads, RT and RW administrators, as well as waste management officials in encouraging sorting at source. He asked that these efforts continue to be carried out consistently.

"Let's continue to improve waste management and sorting so that our consistency can continue," he said.
