Serang Regency Government officials attended the meeting. The District Government formed a Mining Task Force to monitor mines without permits and mines whose permits have expired, with the results of the data collection being forwarded to the Banten Provincial Government

SERANG, GARISBUMI.com – The Serang Regency Government has formed a Mining Task Force (Satgas) to monitor mining activities, including those suspected of operating without permits or having permits that have expired.

A number of areas were targeted for surveillance, including Pabuaran, Jawilan, Bojonegara, Pulo Ampel and Mancak. Teams will be divided by region so that data collection can take place simultaneously.

Serang Regency Regional Secretary Zaldi Dhuhana said that the formation of the task force was the direction of Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah. The Regent asked for immediate supervision, especially of mines that were suspected of being illegal.

"This is all under the direction of the Regent of Serang (Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah) regarding the supervision of mines, especially illegal mines. The Regent hopes that we will form a Task Force and can take action quickly," said Zaldi, Friday (2/10/2026).

According to Zaldi, the task force will record mining activities and check the status of permits. Supervision also covers licensed mines, including to find out whether the permits are still valid.

He mentioned mining activities in Pabuaran, Ciomas and Mancak as a number of locations that have recently become a concern.

"But in essence, we only monitor mines that are especially illegal, or mines whose permits have expired," he said.

Monitoring results are reported to the Banten Provincial Government

Zaldi explained that the task of the district task force focuses on monitoring and collecting data. According to him, the authority for licensing and follow-up on mine closures without permits lies with the Banten Provincial Government.

The task force's findings will be reported to the Banten Provincial Government through the Energy and Mineral Resources Service (ESDM) for follow-up according to authority.

"Because for mines that are no longer licensed, the authority to close them lies with the Banten Provincial Government," he said.

When giving his statement, Zaldi said that the composition of the task force had been formed and was still waiting for approval through the regent's signature. Field supervision is planned to begin immediately, with Pabuaran as one of the initial locations.

The division of teams by region is expected to speed up inspection and data collection regarding mining activities in Serang Regency.

"Yes, divided into teams. So that later we can immediately work simultaneously and we can immediately get fast data, especially related to illegal mining," said Zaldi. CMS Tags: Serang Regency, Mining Task Force, Illegal Mining, Banten Provincial Government, Zaldi Dhuhana, Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah
