Indonesia Unites 13 East Asian Countries to Face Transboundary Air Pollution
Thirteen countries harmonize monitoring standards
The 27th EANET meeting was attended by delegates from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea, China, Mongolia and Russia.
The delegates discussed harmonizing monitoring technical standards, exchanging data, and strengthening cooperation to address declining air quality in East Asia.
Sinta hopes that the meeting will not stop at technical discussions, but will also strengthen partnerships between countries in formulating concrete steps to control air pollution.
“We hope that this meeting will not only be productive, but also become an opportunity to exchange technical information and strengthen the spirit of partnership that has always been the hallmark of EANET,” he said. (ed)
