Haze is thinning, Tabalong air is still unhealthy
Previously, the haze was reported to be getting thicker on 23–25 October 2026. On Saturday (24/10/2026), visibility in a number of locations was said to have dropped to around 30–50 meters, disrupting community activities, especially road users.
The fog began to thin on Monday. However, monitoring results show that the reduction in visible smoke does not mean the air is safe for all activities.
Residents Asked to Continue Limiting Exposure
DLH Tabalong urges the public to limit strenuous activities outdoors and use masks that can filter fine particles if they have to do activities outside the home.
This warning is related to the risk of exposure to PM2.5, fine particles that can penetrate deep into the respiratory tract.
Residents are also asked not to burn rubbish or clear land by burning so as not to increase sources of pollution and the risk of forest and land fires.
At the South Kalimantan level, rain on 24–25 October reportedly helped extinguish and reduce fire activity in several locations. Handling of forest and land fires continues through direct extinguishing and land wetting.
