Flyover Opens Garbage Exchange via Application, Sorting Must Be Maintained up to the TPS
MAKASSAR, GARISBUMI.com – Residents of Layang Village, Bontoala District, Makassar City, now have a waste exchange service based on the MuliaAsri application. This service is aimed at facilitating citizen involvement in waste management as well as opening up opportunities for collaboration with local business actors.
The Waste Exchange Center on Jalan Sibula Dalam was inaugurated by the Chair of the Makassar City Environmental Council, Melinda Aksa Munafri, Friday (6/11/2026). In this activity, he emphasized that sorting from home needs to be accompanied by supervision so that waste does not get mixed up again in temporary shelters (TPS).
This message places digital services as part of the waste management series. The benefits of citizen sorting need to be maintained through subsequent collection and handling.
Application connects citizens and MSME partners
Layang Village Head, Ahdar Natsir, explained that MuliaAsri was designed to connect the community with waste management activities. Apart from supporting the waste exchange process, the application has a partner feature as a collaboration space for local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
However, the available information does not yet detail the type of waste received, exchange mechanism, exchange rate, or service schedule. This information is important so that residents know how to use the service.
Bontoala sub-district head, Patahulla, said the waste exchange center in Layang is the second in his sub-district area. Previously, a similar center had been inaugurated in Gaddong Village.
