Dozens of Companies Monitored, KLH Requests Accelerated Handling of Alleged Pollution
JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – Dozens of companies are included in the supervision and handling process of the Ministry of the Environment/Environmental Control Agency (KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH)). Handling of suspected environmental pollution and destruction is encouraged more quickly through coordination with the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, with ecosystem restoration as the main target.
Minister of Environment/Head of Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) Moh Jumhur Hidayat conveyed this direction during the inauguration of the Inspector General of Police. Adi Deriyan Jayamarta as Deputy for Environmental Law Enforcement in Jakarta, Wednesday (21/10/2026).
Jumhur emphasized that the inclusion of a company under supervision or handling does not mean that the company has been proven legally guilty.
He admitted that he had communicated directly with the National Police Chief and asked the Deputy Gakkum LH to strengthen coordination with Bareskrim. This step is aimed at speeding up the handling of corporations that are indicated to be polluting or damaging the environment.
According to Jumhur, law enforcement authority must be used to demand accountability for ecological damage while ensuring that restoration proceeds according to regulations.
"The most important thing is that the earth is restored from the power we have," said Jumhur, as quoted from the KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) statement.
Supervision still faces limited personnel and geographical challenges. Therefore, treatment requires analysis to determine steps that suit the character of each case.
