Initial meeting to examine energy security performance by BPK and North Maluku Provincial Government in Ternate, Monday (26/10/2026)

TERNATE, GARISBUMI.com – Problems with the delivery of solar power generation (PLTS) equipment to villages and the accuracy of data collection on fuel needs were issues that emerged at the start of the energy security performance inspection in North Maluku, Monday (26/10/2026).

The Financial Audit Agency (BPK) is examining the effectiveness of the role of regional governments in supporting the national energy security program for Fiscal Year 2025 and Semester I 2026. The examination is scheduled to last until 26 November 2026.

In the initial inspection meeting in Ternate, North Maluku Regional Secretary Samsudin A. Kadir highlighted the obstacles to port access for sending PLTS equipment in the Electrified Village program.

He also emphasized the importance of reporting the need for fuel oil (BBM) and kerosene accurately so as not to cause shortages. The dynamics of population movement between regions in Halmahera was also a concern in the discussion.

The issues raised are the initial context of the regional government, not yet in the form of BPK audit findings.

Assessing Energy Access and Affordability

The BPK Team Technical Controller, Muhammad, explained that the audit focused on regional government performance, not on examining financial reports.

"This energy security inspection is a performance inspection whose final results are findings, conclusions and recommendations for improvements towards efficiency, effectiveness and economics. For this inspection, the final goal is to assess effectiveness," he explained.
