Sawan Subdistrict Office employees weigh used cardboard at the Kutus Waste Bank Unit (BSU), Sawan District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, Wednesday (21/10/2026)

BULELENG, GARISBUMI.com – The habit of sorting waste from the workplace is implemented by employees of the Sawan Subdistrict Office, Buleleng Regency, Bali, through the Kutus Waste Bank Unit (BSU). In the activity on Wednesday (21/10/2026), they collected 10.1 kilograms of cardboard, 7.2 kilograms of mixed bottles and seven used glass bottles of drinks.

Waste is separated by type before being weighed and recorded. This step aims to facilitate the management of materials that still have economic value while reducing waste disposed of at the final processing site (TPA).

Based on information from Sawan District, this activity was attended by all sub-district office employees as part of efforts to build more orderly and sustainable waste management.

Sort Before Considering

In BSU Kutus records, the waste collected consisted of mixed bottles weighing 7.2 kilograms and cardboard weighing 10.1 kilograms. Apart from that, there were six used bottles of Draft beer and one used bottle of Bintang beer which were recorded based on the number of units.

Sorting before weighing helps waste bank managers record each type of material separately. Waste that still has economic value can also be collected for further management.

This activity is part of efforts to reduce waste from its source, starting from government offices.
