JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – Waste management, reforestation and productive land use are part of the efforts of the residents of RT 08 RW 04 Malaka Jaya Subdistrict, East Jakarta, to protect the environment while supporting family food security.

These residents' activities are of concern in monitoring and evaluating the Quality Family Village (Kampung KB) in the Bunga Rampai Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Duren Sawit District, Monday (26/10/2026).

East Jakarta City Administration Secretary, Eka Darmawan, said that family and community involvement was the starting point for environmental change. He encourages the use of yards to plant productive plants so that the benefits of environmental planning can reach household needs.

"I hope that this good practice will continue to be maintained and developed, including through the use of yards for productive plants and family food sources," he said.

According to Eka, concern for the environment is expected to provide wider benefits, ranging from residential comfort to support for the economy and family food availability.

"Thus, caring for the environment not only creates a comfortable area, but also provides economic benefits and supports household food security," he said.
