Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH) Strengthens Pollution Control and Carbon Economic Governance, Inaugurates Two Officials

JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – The Ministry of the Environment/Environmental Control Agency (KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH)) is strengthening pollution control and governance of the economic value of carbon through the inauguration of two officials. Minister of Environment/Head of Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) Moh Jumhur Hidayat emphasized the importance of integrity in exercising authority and implementing environmental policies.

The inauguration took place in Jakarta, Monday (28/9/2026). The two officials appointed were Noer Adi Wardojo as Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control and Haryo Pambudi as Director of Management for the Implementation of Carbon Economic Value.

Both have mandates related to pollution control, emission standards, waste management, and handling climate change.

"KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) has an important role in the development phase which prioritizes environmental sustainability. Therefore, this mandate requires commitment and integrity in carrying out authority and ensuring that environmental policies are implemented according to provisions," said Jumhur on the sidelines of the inauguration.

Control of Pollution and Environmental Damage

Noer Adi Wardojo's appointment is based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia which was stipulated in Jakarta on 23 September 2026.

As deputy, Noer Adi carries responsibility in the field of controlling pollution and environmental damage. Implementation of this mandate is related to the quality of the environment perceived by the community, including through controlling emissions and handling waste.

Jumhur emphasized that the authority given is carried out with a commitment to environmental protection and compliance with provisions.

Governance of Carbon Economic Value

Meanwhile, Haryo Pambudi was appointed based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment/Head of Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) Number 2967 of 2026, which was stipulated on 25 September 2026. His appointment is effective from the date of inauguration.

Haryo is in charge of governance for the implementation of carbon economic value. KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) emphasized that this instrument requires management with integrity so that environmental protection goes hand in hand with development and the agenda for handling climate change.

Through this inauguration, KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) places pollution control and the implementation of the economic value of carbon as an important part of implementing the environmental protection mandate.
