DEMAK, GARISBUMI.com – The Demak Regency Environmental Service (DLH) is encouraging residents of Pundenarum Village, Karangawen District, to sort and process waste from home. This step is expected to reduce the volume of waste sent to the final processing site (TPA).

This invitation was conveyed through the socialization of household waste management policies at the Pundenarum Village Hall, Wednesday (30/9/2026). This activity aims to increase public understanding about waste management according to its type and characteristics.

In this outreach, residents received explanations regarding reducing waste generation, sorting it from sources, and utilizing materials that still have useful value.

DLH Demak encourages the application of the 3R principles, namely reduce, reuse and recycle, in everyday life. This principle includes efforts to reduce waste, reuse items that are still viable, and recycle materials that can be processed.

Organic waste can be used or processed into compost. Meanwhile, inorganic waste that still has economic value can be sorted for reuse or distributed through waste banks.

Sorting from home is expected to help manage waste before it goes to the landfill. Through this step, residents can help reduce the burden of disposal while utilizing some of the waste produced.

In its written statement, DLH Demak emphasized that waste management is a joint responsibility of the government and the community. Citizen involvement is needed to build sustainable habits.

Through this outreach, the Pundenarum community is expected to be more active in maintaining environmental cleanliness and making waste management part of household activities.
