State Takes Back 259 Thousand Hectares of Forest, Receives IDR 13.24 Trillion

JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – The state regained control of a forest area of ​​259,230.73 hectares and received state financial returns amounting to IDR 13.24 trillion through control by the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH Task Force).

President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the handing over of administrative fines, proceeds from state financial rescue and forest areas at the Attorney General's Office Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/10/2026).

Symbolically, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin as Deputy Chair I of the PKH Task Force handed over the forest area to the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni. This handover is part of the government's efforts to restore control of state assets and improve forest area governance.

According to information from the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Forestry, in the last two years the PKH Task Force has saved state finances of up to IDR 52 trillion and regulated more than 6.2 million hectares of forest areas throughout Indonesia.

Prabowo emphasized that saved natural assets and wealth must be used for the welfare of society.

"What the PKH Task Force is doing is a real effort to increase the nation's savings for the future of our children and grandchildren. Forest areas that are saved and put in order are of enormous value to support national development, starting from improving schools, health facilities, to improving the quality of life of the community," said Prabowo.

The President also appreciated the cooperation of the PKH Task Force which involved 12 ministries and institutions. A number of agencies involved include the Ministry of Forestry, Attorney General's Office, TNI, Polri, Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
