SOUTH TANGERANG, GARISBUMI.com – Five used plastic bottles can be exchanged for one plant seed in the South Tangerang City Environmental Service (DLH) program in the BSD Car Free Day (CFD) area, Serpong, Sunday (4/10/2026). Available seeds include celery, basil, mint, and ornamental plants for greening the house.

In this activity, South Tangerang DLH prepared 50 plant seeds. Through this exchange, residents are invited to get used to sorting plastic waste from home while also utilizing the available space for planting.

Head of DLH South Tangerang City Bani Khosyatullah said the program aims to reduce the generation of plastic waste and encourage greening in the living environment.

"The public can exchange the plastic waste that has been collected for plant seeds that have been provided by DLH Tangsel," said Bani.

According to him, it is hoped that exchanging waste for plant seeds will help build new habits. Plastic bottles are sorted and collected first so they can be managed better.

This program is being held again with a more diverse selection of seeds. If previously fruit plants and ornamental plants were available, this time DLH Tangsel also provides plants that can be used for kitchen needs.

Residents can choose celery, basil and mint seeds. The choice of ornamental plants includes yellow philodendron and green philodendron.
