Indramayu Encourages Strengthening of UPTD/BLUD to Improve Waste Services
INDRAMAYU, GARISBUMI.com – The Indramayu Regency Environmental Service (DLH) is encouraging the strengthening of waste management institutions so that services to the community are more focused and sustainable. The discussion focused on the formation and operationalization of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) and the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) for waste management.
These steps were discussed in assistance and supervision activities held by the Directorate General of Regional Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Bandung, 30 September to 2 October 2026.
Acting DLH Secretary for Indramayu Regency Leila Indrayani was present as a resource person at the regional government session. He emphasized the importance of strong institutions to support waste management.
"Through strong institutions, it is hoped that waste management can be implemented more optimally and sustainably," said Leila.
The forum involved 15 regional governments as well as related ministries and institutions. The participants discussed developments, plans and follow-up to the formation of UPTD/BLUD for waste management.
This activity is part of the evaluation of the Improvement of Solid Waste Management to Support Regional and Metropolitan Cities Project (ISWMP) program, especially strengthening waste management institutions in supported areas.
Apart from discussing the formation of institutions, the forum is a space for sharing experiences between regional governments. The discussion is directed at harmonizing steps so that the institutions prepared can support the waste service needs of each region.
