ENSIA 2026 Presents 954 Environmental Innovations from 253 Companies
DENPASAR, GARISBUMI.com – A total of 253 companies presented 954 works of environmental and social innovation at the Environmental and Social Innovation Awards or ENSIA 2026. The program also involved 48 local drivers or local heroes (community champions) from various regions.
Minister of the Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH)) Moh Jumhur Hidayat said that the increasing participation of companies in ENSIA 2026 shows the increasing attention of the business world to sustainability.
However, the innovation should not stop at awards. The business world is encouraged to consistently carry out innovations that provide real benefits for the environment and society.
Jumhur conveyed this message while attending ENSIA 2026 in Denpasar, Bali, Thursday, September 10 2026.
According to Jumhur, business world innovation has an important role in increasing environmental compliance, accelerating ecosystem recovery, and realizing equitable development.
Environmental Compliance Must Be Established
Jumhur explained that compliance with the environment needs to be built through a number of approaches, ranging from moral awareness, religious values, to law enforcement.
“In realizing environmental ethical compliance, there are moral appeals, then religious commands, and finally using legal instruments. "Those who cannot be governed morally and religiously, we command legally," he said. Jumhur said.
He stressed that environmental protection should not be seen as an obstacle to development. Economic growth and business activities can continue to run simultaneously with efforts to protect and restore the environment.
“KLH encourages growth and development through environmental protection. It can be done. ENSIA is one example. Please build, but at the same time restore and protect the environment as best as possible,” he said.
Business World Innovation Faces Three Global Crises
Jumhur reminded that the world is facing a triple planetary crisis or the earth's three main crises, namely climate change, loss of biodiversity, and environmental pollution and damage.
These conditions require innovation that not only pursues economic growth, but also considers environmental and social impacts.
According to him, innovation in the business world needs to be developed through four principles. The four are the creation of green jobs, preparation and social involvement, implementation of a safety culture without accidents or zero accidents, and the Ecological Repentance Movement.
ENSIA 2026 is considered to be in line with KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH)'s efforts to encourage beyond compliance practices. This concept positions companies not just to fulfill basic environmental obligations, but to go further through innovation and concrete action.
This contribution can be realized in various fields, such as waste management, ecosystem rehabilitation, resource efficiency, the transition to clean energy, and the development of a green economy.
ENSIA Becomes a Space for Sharing Best Practices
President Director of PT Sucofindo Sandry Pasambuna said, ENSIA is a collaboration space for companies to share innovation and best practices in implementing sustainability principles.
“ENSIA provides an opportunity for companies to demonstrate their commitment and innovation achievements to stakeholders,” said Sandy.
Apart from gaining recognition, he continued, participants can exchange experiences and expand cooperation networks in the field of sustainability.
The participation of 253 companies with 954 works in ENSIA 2026 is expected to encourage the birth of more innovations that provide measurable benefits for the environment and society.
KLH/Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) assesses that collaboration between government, business and society is one of the keys to sustainable development. Economic growth must continue by ensuring the environment is protected and damaged ecosystems can be restored for future generations.
