The banks of the Krendang River in Angke will be greened for 500 meters
WEST JAKARTA, GARISBUMI.com – The banks of the Krendang River on Jalan Padamulya, RW 09, Angke Village, Tambora District, West Jakarta, will be landscaped and greened for around 500 meters. This plan follows up on the aspirations of residents who want a cleaner and more beautiful riverbank environment.
Head of Tambora Sub-district, Pangestu Aji, said that the arrangement of the area would also be accompanied by controlling buildings that the sub-district called illegal buildings at the location.
"Residents want the area to be green so that it is beautiful. This is very good concern from the residents," said Aji during the Tambora Orderly, Integrated, Safe and Comfortable (Tampan) activity, Wednesday (7/10/2026).
According to Aji, Angke Village has given the first warning letter to the building owner. The next stages of control will be carried out according to procedures.
Acting Angke Tubagus Village Head Masarul Iman hopes that the building owner will carry out the demolition independently before officers carry out the control. After the first warning letter, the subdistrict office will continue to provide second and third warning letters.
"Before the authorities carry out control, we hope that residents will dismantle their own buildings," he said.
Tubagus reminded that if the demolition was carried out by officers, his party could not guarantee that the building materials could be saved.
Meanwhile, Chairman of RW 09, Angke Village, Heru Sutrianto, welcomed the arrangement plan. He said that residents have been carrying out reforestation independently on the banks of the Krendang River.
Heru hopes that support from sub-districts and sub-districts can expand the reforestation that residents have initiated.
"We hope that the sub-district and sub-district authorities can follow up so that the entire area can be arranged for greening," he said.
